Current Favourite Makeup Brushes!

Hey pumpkins,

Today's blog post is on my current favourite makeup brushes!

About 6 months ago, I jumped on the Real Techniques bandwagon and started using their makeup brushes - and they are fabulous!

In total, I have about 6 of the brushes that I use on a regular basis but I am looking into buying some more and incorporating them into my daily makeup routine.

I think this is gonna be a long one, so grab a cuppa!

The first one that I want to talk about is the Expert Face Brush which I use to blend in cream foundations and concealor. This brush blends in cream foundations beautifully, it holds just the right amount of product and works best if you start applying the foundation to the centre of the face and then blend outwards. It is also extremely easy to clean which is always a good thing and the shape of the brush means that it is easy to blend foundation around the eyes and nose. This brush retails for around £9.99 which I think is great for such an amazing brush.

I use the Detailer Brush for applying my MAC Studio Finish Concealor as it comes in a pot, so it helps to remove the product from the packaging and then apply it to problem areas. The detailer brush is tapered and small making it perfect for this job. I then blend in my concealor using the expert face brush! I think that this brush would be good for highlighting in places such as the inner eye or applying a lip product! The detailer brush is part of the Core Collection which retails at £21.99 and also includes a pointed foundation brush, buffing brush and a contour brush!

I absolutley love the powder brush from this range it is a really nice shape and size meaning that the powder is distributed evenly across the face, saving you from looking cakey. The bristles in this brush are really dense, but this does not make the brush feel stiff, infact it feels incredibly soft on your skin. This brush is good for use with both pressed and loose powders and retails at around £12.99!

The next brush I want to share with you is the buffing brush. I tend to use this brush for applying and blending cream blushers but I know that many people love this brush to blend in their cream foundation. I find that it blends and buffs my blusher into my skin evenly and amazingly without leaving any streaks behind. This brush is part of the Core Collection which retails at £21.99

I am always really enjoying using the blush brush. This brush is a large blush brush which means that it covers the whole of the cheek in one go and is also big enough to be used with face powder too. The brush is an extremely soft dome shape making application smooth and easy. It is very good quality especially for the price and applies product evenly. This brush retails at around £9.99!

And finally, the contour brush. This brush is kind of egg shaped making it perfect for contouring under the cheekbones and applying highlighter. I find that the bristles on most of the Real Techniques brushes are really good quality and not one of the hairs has bent or fallen out of any of my brushes to date. I especially love this brush for contouring as it is the perfect shape and size to fit under the cheekbones to give you a beautifully defined face. This is also part of the Core Collection which retails at £21.99

Just to let you know Boots are currently doing a 3 for 2 mix and match across all makeup and beauty accessories at the moment which is the perfect opportunity to pick up these brushes and give them a go for yourself!!
